The umbrella holder is Steel with a powder coat of Grayvane. A set screw holds most umbrellas in place. We found loading and unloading our rafts in 100 degree heat the umbrella provided shade by turning the boat around so you could stand in the shade. Later we took our umbrella off the boat and sat in the shade.

The stand measures 8.5 inches high. Umbrella stand can be placed easily on any frame. I attached mine to the foot bar in the middle. The umbrella is easily collapsed or removed in high winds and is out of the way. I found the Costco sun-screen umbrella to work the best. Because all frame bars are not the same, hose clamps for attachment are not included, they are optional.
