Hypalon Accessories
Installation of Hypalon® D-rings , foot cups, footraces and carry handles is essentially the same for each accessory. The most used adhesive for installing Hypalon® accessories is 2 part shore adhesive, with Toluol. Shore adhesive is the bonding agent used to manufacture Hypalon® Rafts, Catarafts and Inflatable Kayaks, and the 2 part adhesive has an accelerator for faster and stronger adhesion. You should use the one part shore adhesive for river repairs and the 2 part for adding accessories.
PVC/Urethane Accessories
Installation of PVC or Urethane d-rings, foot cups, and handles is the same for each of the accessories. We highly recommend stabond, a two part adhesive. River Connection has found this to be the most stable adhesive available today. Stabond is used with MEK as a cleaning and bonding agent, on all rafts, catarafts, and inflatable kayaks.
River Repairs - Most river repairs should be removed and the inside completely dried, and a permeate patch applies when you get home. The River Connection and the Boat Doctor offer a inflatable emergency repair kit. Why spend your valuable time on the beach repairing a rip, just apply the emergency repair kit and be on your way. The clear tape sticks as well to Hypalon as it does PVC or Urethane.
