Dry Boxes, Dry Bags and Waterproof Containers
What Dry Box is right for you...
Deciding the right dry box should not be painstaking; ask yourself the following 3 questions.
1.) Lets start with the most important question; what will you be using the dry box for?
Are you going to be using your dry box for just a few small things like your keys, wallet, camera ext. ext. then you can go with a small composite dry box mounted by your seat. If you want a dry box for all of your kitchen gear, then you can use either the larger composite dry box or an aluminum box. We suggest using a larger aluminum dry box, there are aluminum dry boxes made for just this purpose, these are mounted with removable legs.
2.) What type of material would you like your box to be made of Composite or Aluminum?
Both materials are proven to be durable and tough. Many old school boaters prefer the aluminum dry boxes for there wide rang of applications on the river and the ability to modify them to fit there individual needs. Others care for composite dry boxes; in most cases are lighter then there older brother (aluminum boxes), you can also get composite boxes in colors. Composite vs. Aluminum; in the end it really only maters to you because it’s going to be on your boat.
3.) Where at on your boat will you be mounting your dry box?
There are many setups out there this is going to depend on what type of boating you are going to be doing. It will also depend on what type of boat you are using, round boat, cataraft, kayak, canoe or a drift boat. It will also depends on weather you will be using a frame and the layout of your frame. Do you want your box in the front of the boat, the back or under your seat? You can also have a seat bridge on top of your Aluminum dry box, there are so many choices out there today to meet everyone’s needs. Mesh Containers are always useful for like Jackets Straps and other items to keep them organized.
