Cataract Oar by Advanced Composites
Important specifications include boat type and size, gear and passenger load, water classification, skill, and your preferences as the oarsperson. All day you labor against the current or into the wind, just to find the right
spot. A spot where the fish are biting and the sun won't melt the last of your
will. Nothing, during these great moments in life, should come between you
and boating. Cataract shafts are made with the same filament wound glass/carbon/epoxy
composite technology used by the aerospace industry.
Formula for finding Oar Length
|
Formula for Raft or Cat Boat:
Distance between oar locks in inches times 3 minus 6 inches divided by 2. Then divide by 12 to get feet. Always round up to the next .5 or even number.
( This is only a suggestion not carved in stone.) |
The SGG oar shaft flexes and rebounds like wood without the weight or need for maintenance. As of 2001, Cataract shafts are ground and painted for smooth finish. The SGG effectively translates muscle energy into stroke power, giving you the ultimate in oar responsiveness. Blades are interchangeable with Carlisle models. Lengths include the blade, which is sold separately. This is the most popular Oar model.
Color choices for SGG are: Blue, Yellow, Black |

Magnum Blade
The magnum oar blade is what our customers had been asking for. Made with a higher density urethane material for increased durability and a thinner cross-section for slicing the water cleaner, this blade has been designed with the help of all of you... from the private weekender to the professional outfitter. The MAGNUM BLADE still incorporates all the advantages of our Original Blade in that it still floats, is still strong due to the composite core which also provides the desired amount of flex (feels like wood), is still lightweight, and is still detachable via the standard push button system common to the industry. We have also made the blade wider at the tip to give more surface area out at the end of the oar where you can use it. A blade this good could only have been designed by all of us. So get a set of MAGNUM BLADES and start shredding! |
